Was he right to do this?

so i met this kid liam a few months back. we became good friends really fast, and hung out every weekend. Whenever we were together with groups he was always by my side, and hugging me and flirtng with me. but now all of a sudden he has distanced himself from me. he ignroes me in the hallways, puts his head down when i p, and ignores my texts. But randomly he will text me. he talks to me in the once cl we have, but its always bickering. yesterday we spent the dya together, bc of the club we were in, and half the time he stood by me just staning there. then when he was looking at me as if he wanted to say something, i asked what, he said no and tunred around. im so confused why did he do this
