My photographer wants to do a photo shoot at a park in between the wedding and reception. Is this a good idea?

The photographer should know what he is doing. At my cousins wedding it took forever for everyone to be seated so the bridal party can enter the reception during this time they waited outside doing nothing but taking photos this was a garden wedding and the photos were beautiful... Ask if you can go to some sort of Garden or something like that.
